Every day, thousands of meters of waterproof fabric leave our factory for customers around the world.
Some will become waterproof mattress protectors in Europe. Others will be used in hospitals, hotels, nursing homes, or pet products in North America, Australia, and Asia.
For most buyers, they only see the finished fabric after it arrives at their warehouse.
But have you ever wondered what happens before that?
Today, we’d like to take you behind the scenes and follow the journey of a single roll of waterproof fabric through a typical working day at Meihu.
8:00 AM – The Day Begins with Raw Material Inspection
Production starts long before the machines begin running.
Every batch of face fabric and TPU film is inspected before entering production.
Our team checks:
Fabric width
GSM
Surface condition
Color consistency
TPU film specifications
Only materials that meet production requirements move to the next stage.
Starting with qualified raw materials is the first step toward consistent product quality.

9:30 AM – TPU Lamination Starts
Once production parameters have been confirmed, the lamination line begins operating.
Large fabric rolls move steadily through the machine while the TPU membrane is bonded to the textile surface under carefully controlled temperature and pressure.
Throughout production, operators continuously monitor the process to ensure stable bonding.
Although customers rarely see this stage, it plays one of the biggest roles in determining waterproof performance and long-term durability.

11:00 AM – Quality Checks Never Stop
While production continues, our quality control team performs regular inspections.
Rather than waiting until production is complete, we inspect throughout the process.
Typical inspection points include:
- · Surface appearance
- · Lamination consistency
- · Fabric tension
- · Edge alignment
If any abnormality is detected, adjustments are made immediately.
This helps prevent small issues from becoming larger production problems.

1:30 PM – Waterproof Performance Verification
After lunch, another batch is ready for testing.
Waterproof performance is one of the most important characteristics of TPU laminated fabric.
Depending on the product requirements, the fabric may undergo:
- · Water penetration checks
- · Visual waterproof inspection
- · Lamination integrity verification
These tests help confirm that the finished fabric meets customer expectations before moving to packaging.
3:00 PM – Measuring, Rolling, and Labeling
Once the fabric has passed inspection, it is measured according to customer specifications.
Each roll is checked for:
- · Width
- · Roll length
- · Appearance
- · Identification label
Clear labeling makes warehouse management easier and helps customers identify products quickly after arrival.
4:30 PM – Preparing for International Shipment
The final step is packaging.
Depending on customer requirements, rolls may be wrapped with protective film, packed on pallets, or prepared with customized labels and export markings.
Every shipment is organized to reduce transportation risks during long international journeys.
Our goal is simple:
The fabric should arrive in the same condition as when it left our factory.
5:30 PM – Ready to Begin a New Journey
By the end of the day, finished rolls are ready to leave the factory.
Some will travel thousands of kilometers by sea.
Others will become waterproof mattress protectors, pillow protectors, healthcare bedding, or hospitality products that people use every day.
Although customers may never see the production process, every roll reflects the same commitment to quality, consistency, and careful manufacturing.
Tomorrow morning, another production day will begin.
And another roll of waterproof fabric will start the same journey.
